The end of the spring semester is right around the corner and our Buckeyes have been doing an extraordinary job throughout this last academic year. Perhaps this year has felt like a marathon; and now at the end of the race, while excited to finish, you might feel more exhausted than anything else.

The Ohio State University has countless programs and services that can help you deal with the stress and anxiety you may be facing. If you need some extra support to finish strong, consider these tips and resources available to you:

Academic Support

Reach out to your professor or TA
If you didn’t do as well as you hoped on prior assignments this semester or you are just generally worried about a final exam or project, reach out to your professor or TA for more support. You can identify what is expected of you or your group for upcoming assignments or finals. It is better to tackle any possible future situations ahead of time before they cause you unneeded stress.

Office Hours and Tutoring
If you are in need of more help after initially reaching out to a professor or TA, try to attend their office hours more frequently. Office hours are dedicated times for professors and TAs to assist struggling students. Academic Advising has a page with academic resources for specific subjects, offices and campuses.

Academic Advising
Be in regular contact with your academic advisor, who can provide support and guidance on your coursework and planning for the future. Undergraduate students can schedule an appointment with their advisor via OnCourse; graduate and professional students should reach out to their departments directly.

Dennis Learning Center
The Dennis Learning Center is a great resource for students to utilize for academic coaching. Academic coaching can help reduce procrastination to stay on track with goals, build effective and efficient study methods, improve test-taking strategies and much more. Take some time to schedule an academic coaching session to prepare for your final exams and projects.

Mental Health Support

Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS)
CCS knows how important it is to get help when you need it and with the resources available at Ohio State, there is something you can do to support your mental health every day. From their mental health strategies video series, to Let’s Talk sessions, drop-in workshops, counseling and more, CCS is here for you. Check out their Mental Health Support page for resources and more.

Student Wellness Center (SWC)
The Student Wellness Center empowers students to strive for balance and wellness. Wellness is an active, ongoing process that involves becoming aware of and taking steps toward a healthier, happier, more successful life. Among the many resources a part of the Student Wellness Center, Wellness Coaching, Buckeye Peer Access Line (PAL) and Nutrition Coaching are some great resources for students as finals week is fast approaching. These resources will help make sure your overall mental health and eating habits are maintained as these can be hard components to manage through stress.

Ohio State: Wellness App
The Ohio State: Wellness App offers resources for various health and mental goals such as digital wellness, nutritional eating and living, understanding drinking habits, building confidence and resilience, physical wellness, emotional wellness, career wellness and much more. There’s no one-size-fits-all model for exploring and developing wellness habits, that’s why the Ohio State: Wellness app gives you options. Set custom wellness goals or use app presets to make daily, weekly and monthly plans that help you create a life that you love. You can download the app in your app store.
