Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to get involved on campus? With more than 1,400 student organizations and over 80 Buck-I-SERV trips available, you can easily begin taking steps towards your goals. Check out these involvement opportunities through the Office of Student Life:

Spring Student Involvement Fair

The Spring Student Involvement Fair takes place each year in early January, giving new and returning students an opportunity to explore more options for their involvement. Smaller and more intimate than the Student Involvement Fair held during Welcome Week, the Spring Student Involvement Fair gives students a perfect chance to meet people and learn about the great things Ohio State’s student organizations are doing.

The Spring Student Involvement Fair will be held on Thursday, January 16, from 4–7 p.m. in the Ohio Union.

Student Activities Cohort Applications

Within the opportunities available for students, there are also leadership opportunities through the Student Activities Leadership Cohorts. Cohorts consist of students and offer unique opportunities to lead other students, plan large-scale events and gain valuable leadership skills.

For more information, visit the Student Activities website.

Volunteer On Campus and Around Columbus

In fulfillment of the university’s mission, “education for citizenship,” Ohio State students have numerous opportunities to connect with communities, engage in social justice issues, and develop skills for active citizenship. Every year, Ohio State students deliver more than 10,000 hours of service through programs like:

Pay It Forward: This cohort provides students with regular, easily-accessible service opportunities on campus and in the Columbus community. Working to help students pursue their passions within service, the cohort educates and exposes students to avenues of civic engagement in a variety of areas.

Social Change Volunteer Commitment: Social Change volunteers, or mentors, are expected to commit to at least one semester or one year of service depending on the program. We pride ourselves on being the next step in the journey of community service.

Student Wellness Center: The Wellness Center is supported by more than 150 student volunteers in a variety of topic areas, including: BASICS/CASICS Facilitator, Buckeye PAL, Scarlet and Gray Financial Leadership Development Program, Wellness Coach, Wellness Ambassador, Body Project Facilitator, HIV/STI Test Counselor and REVP Ambassadors.
